Garbage & Recycling On The Bruce

Please do not leave garbage or recycling at the property at check-out; our cleaning team cannot store or dispose of garbage.

Garbage bags and blue recycling bags are provided for you in the pantry.

• Overflow garbage can be stored in the shed during your stay.

• Do not store any garbage or food waste outdoors. We have raccoons, foxes, chipmunks,  birds, and even bears who love to tear open garbage bags.

• We have municipal garbage collection on our street on Monday morning (early). If you are here on a Monday feel free to place up to 2 garbage bags and your recycling blue bags at the road for pickup. Do not place garbage outside on Sunday nights due to animals.

• Please take additional garbage and recycling with you at the end of your stay.

Fire Pit & Firewood

• Firewood and kindling are available for purchase at Home Hardware on Highway 6

• Please do not burn any wood or sticks found on the property.

• Ensure all fires are properly extinguished when you are finished.

• Please do not put any garbage or cigarette butts in the fire pit.

No Smoking or Vaping Inside The Barn.

Please dispose of any cigarette butts in a can and place them in the garbage.

Storage Shed

The storage shed is for your use during your stay. Inside you will find outdoor chairs, yard games, and storage for overflow garbage. Feel free to use the shed for your bikes, kayaks, or other items you want to securely store.

Baseboard Heaters

Baseboard heaters can be controlled individually for each room in the barn. Use the left and right arrows to adjust to your desired heat setting. Please do not operate the heaters with the windows open.

Fireplace

The propane fireplace heats the kitchen area. Use the fireplace remote located next to the panty to set the desired temperature using the arrows. Please only set it to a maximum of 70F.

Ceiling Fans

Each bedroom has a ceiling fan operated by a switch on the wall.

Septic System

Please only flush human waste and toilet paper down the toilet. This property is on a private septic system.

BBQ

The BBQ has a direct connection to the barn’s propane system. To turn the propane on you need to open the panel on the wall behind the BBQ and turn the black knob to ON.

• Please ensure you turn it back OFF after using the BBQ

• BBQ is NOT available during the winter season

Smart TV

• Bell Fibe TV is available. Use the TV remote to switch to HDMI-2 and then use the Bell remote to operate the TV

• The Samsung Smart TV has a variety of apps and TV channels included - sign into any TV apps you subscribe to to watch them.

• There is an HDMI cable already connected to HDMI-1 input- just reach behind the TV (please do not disconnect the cable from the TV)

• There is also a retro Nintendo system that can be connected to the HDMI cable

Amazon Echo Speaker

• Connect to the Amazon Echo speaker in the living room using Bluetooth to enjoy your music.

• Just say “Alexa, pair” and open your Bluetooth settings on your phone.
