Lion’s Head & Tobermory have paid municipal parking in effect from May 15th to October 15th - Please reference the municipality website for more details
Hiking To The Lion’s Head Lookout?
Paid parking is required for the McCurdy Dr. parking lot or a shuttle is available from the school on Moore St.
This is an advanced hike of 6+km and takes 3+ hours to reach the lookout and back. (It’s worth it - just be prepared)

Lion’s Head Marina

This has been described as the prettiest marina in Ontario. It is nestled under the Niagara Escarpment, walkable to all amenities and restaurants, besides the beach where the Farmer's Market and Harbourside Music are held weekly. There are charcoal BBQs and picnic tables available for your use so pack dinner! This marina is run by the Municipality and offers 150 transient slips with an 18 ft depth at the dock.
Spend some time on the water exploring the Lion’s Head harbor. You can even find shipwrecks in the crystal clear water, or venture out along the 200ft limestone cliffs. Remember all your safety equipment as Georgian Bay is BIG water. You can launch your watercraft from the beach or marina.
Beaches
Lion’s Head Beach (7min Drive)
Located right in the heart of Lion’s Head with playground equipment and walking distance to dining and the marina this is a favourite place to spend a day.
Black Creek Provincial Park Beach (15min Drive)
Located on the Lake Huron side of the peninsula this shallow sandy beach offers warmer waters and beautiful sunsets. Local Tip - arrive before 11 AM or after 4 PM on a busy summer weekend to avoid the mid-day rush.
National Parks

Bruce Peninsula National Park (Including The Grotto)
In the traditional territory of the Saugeen Ojibway Nation, this scenic park features towering cliffs of the Niagara Escarpment plunging into the blue waters of Georgian Bay. World-famous hiking in a rugged landscape, home to orchids, ferns, and black bears.
Fathom Five National Marine Park
Canada’s only freshwater national marine park. Known for its limestone cliffs, scuba diving, and over 24 shipwrecks. The marine park is also home to Flower Pot Island. Booking a boat tour is a great way to spend a day.
